I am a long time Alaskan, having lived in the Interior of the state and now, in Southeast.  I started my photography journey after my daughter was born, documenting her milestones, but also photographing the beauty of my surroundings. This interest spilled into my classroom, where I photographed my students.  What started as a way to showcase my students in a variety of ways, turned into a passion that simply hasn't stopped.

This led me to begin photographing all the many events of my town, Sitka.  An art center in the state, the events usually don't stop.  What started with following my students, has continued to expand to all different types of areas-Sitka Jazz Festival, Sitka Seafood Festival, dance recitals, community theater productions, parades, and conventions.

After leaving teaching, I attended the Rocky Mountain School of Photography.  I had decided it was time to really learn the art of photography.  My focus in school was Commerical,  Event, and Documentary photography.  After leaving school, I joined the Professional Photographers of America and in 2018 became a Certified Professional Photographer.

Living in a small town, a photographer has to wear many hats.  In addition photographing events, I added senior sessions to my repertoire.  Since I had worked with students most of my life, it made perfect sense to continue to photograph them.  I have also added wedding sessions to round out my list of offerings.

Regardless of the style of photography I am doing, I strive to provide professionalism and quality to each session.  Creating with clients the story of their event or session and combining a bit of fun, is all part of living in a small town and loving the people living in it.
